Applications are invited for dynamic, result-oriented, ambitious individuals to fill the below position in our plant Ansell Textiles Lanka (Pvt) Ltd at Seeduwa.

Industrial Engineering & Lean Officer

This position is responsible for creating the Lean culture in the organization through facilitating, training and coaching team members in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools. The position holder should be able to give the leadership to teams in the plant and should be able to support and assist to identify potential opportunities for improvements. Provide leadership to drive and monitor Kaizen Events, Quality Circles, 5S and encourage the team leaders to achieve their goals. Furthermore, work and time study need to be carried out to update existing SMV’s.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The incumbent is responsible for:
  • Creating the Lean culture in the organization through Facilitating, training and coaching team members in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Identify and monitor Kaizen events, Quality Circles based on the VSM analysis and encourage the team leaders to achieve the goals.
  • Implement and sustain 5 S in the organization.
  • Identify, study, analyze potential improvement opportunities in the process and propose solutions.
  • Encourage, motivate factory team for improvements through Kaizen schemes.
  • Implement standard work and train relevant team members.
  • Update SMV’s using the knowledge of time and work study.
  • Applying Lean Six Sigma tools to improve process flow, capacity and minimize defects.
  • Identifies opportunities for continual Improvement activities
  • Reports, statistical information are prepared and submitted on a timely basis to the Manager.
  • Make sure all employees are aware of basics of the concept of Lean.
  • Give feedbacks to teams through effective communication methods.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Science or related field.
  • Proficient in Lean Six Sigma principles, Time & Work Study and Project Management.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing & operations experience in garments industry.
  • Good communicator with sound problem solving and statistical skills.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm.
  • Good at respectfully challenging paradigms and being a change agent.
  • Team leadership, strategic thinking, business partnering, verbal and written communication, interpersonal understanding, impact and influence, holding people accountable, global organizational awareness, resilience, business acumen, cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Fluent in English and willing to travel.
