ASST. SUPERINTENDENT COCONUT PLANTATION (GIRIULLA)

As the Asst. Superintendent of Plantation Management Team, you will be responsible for ensuring Optimum Yield in the coconut plantation. You are expected to execute Planning, Organizing and implementing the guidelines set out by the Company in achieving Key Performance Indicators of the Plantation. A passion to live with a sustainable farming and transferring knowledge on best agricultural practices with the team is a key attribute expected from the successful candidate.

You will be joining a team of experienced professionals in the fields of AGRI Business Management and will pave your way for a mutually beneficial career within the Group. This position is based in our Coconut Plantation situated at Giriulla.

Key job functions:

  • Planning, Organizing and implementing guidelines set out by the company to achieve Key Performance Indicators.
  • Implement best Agricultural practices of nurseries, integrated weed management, fertilizer application and irrigation/ moisture conservation & soil rehabilitation.
  • Apply best practices for pest control and disease management
  • Optimize coconut yield while timely harvesting and de husking of coconuts
  • Timely completion of preliminary works for planting, re-planting, under-planting and inter-cropping.
  • Attend to day to day issues related to workforce while maintaining harmony in estate village and ensure required welfare facilities are in order.
  • Plan required funds for operations and monitor all operational costs while planning required materials for plantation operations.
  • Ensure mandatory requirements pertaining to organic certifications and other certifications including buyer plantation audits are complied with.
  • Submit monthly Progress Reports to monitor the performance.

The ideal candidate should have the following prerequisites;

  • A degree or diploma in Plantation Management/ Agriculture or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or an institution.
  • A minimum 05 10 years of hands on experience in similar capacity in Plantation Management/ Estate Management including Coconut is a must.
  • Good working knowledge in MS Office package and ERP Systems.
