ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and guest-focused Sommelier to join our Food & Beverage team. The ideal candidate will have extensive wine knowledge, a refined approach to luxury hospitality, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences through personalized wine recommendations and service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide expert wine recommendations and personalized food and wine pairings to enhance guest dining experiences.
- Deliver exceptional wine service in accordance with five-star luxury hospitality standards.
- Manage and maintain the resort’s wine cellar, ensuring proper storage, organization, and inventory control.
- Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining wine lists based on guest preferences and current trends.
- Conduct wine tastings and create unique wine experiences for guests.
- Train and guide Food & Beverage associates on wine knowledge, service techniques, and upselling opportunities.
- Work closely with the Culinary and Food & Beverage teams to ensure seamless service and exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Monitor wine stock levels, coordinate orders, minimize wastage, and support revenue generation through effective wine sales.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Sommelier, preferably in a five-star luxury resort or hotel.
- Recognized wine certification such as WSET Level 2 or above, CMS, or equivalent is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of international wines, grape varieties, wine regions, and food and wine pairings.
- Strong understanding of wine service standards, cellar management, inventory control, and proper storage techniques.
- Excellent guest engagement skills with the ability to deliver personalized and memorable wine experiences.
- Proven ability to conduct wine tastings, recommend premium wines, and maximize upselling opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Professional appearance, positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a genuine passion for luxury hospitality.
