Carpenter
We have an exciting opportunity for a Carpenter to join Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon, part of Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Sri Lanka's largest hotel owner with a portfolio of 17 hotels and resorts in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. It is a member of John Keells Holdings PLC, one of the largest listed conglomerates in Sri Lanka.
This role will report to the Vice President, Human Resources and will support the HR strategic people initiatives across Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts in Sri Lanka.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out all carpentry, repair, and maintenance work across the hotel.
- Complete assigned work orders efficiently and within required timelines.
- Conduct daily inspections and identify carpentry repairs or maintenance needs.
- Select and use appropriate timber, materials, tools, and equipment for each job.
- Maintain and take proper care of carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and ensure work areas are safely cordoned off when required.
- Report maintenance requirements and completed assignments accurately to the Supervisor.
- Ensure economical use of materials and equipment to support cost control.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Carpenter in a star-class hotel or resort.
- Vocational qualification, certificate, or relevant training in Carpentry or Woodworking.
- Good knowledge of carpentry, furniture repair, woodworking, and general maintenance.
- Ability to read basic drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
- Good knowledge of carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment, with safe operating practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety and workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, with a positive and professional attitude.
- Physically fit and able to work flexible hours when required.
