Job Description
Noku Maldives by Vignette Collection is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Engineer to lead the resort's powerhouse, engineering, HACCP functions, and swimming pool maintenance. This leadership role ensures the safe, efficient, and smooth functioning of all resort systems while maintaining compliance with local regulations and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operations and maintenance of the power plant, reverse osmosis plant, sewage treatment plant, and related equipment.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the resort's engineering operations, including maintenance, renovations, and new projects.
- Ensure the upkeep and proper functioning of guest and service areas.
- Develop and manage the engineering department budget.
- Recruit, train, and lead engineers, technicians, and contractors.
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of the swimming pool, including water treatment and filtration.
- Manage inventory and maintain an organized system for tools, materials, and equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior engineering role, preferably in a luxury resort.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage, mentor, and motivate a diverse team.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
- Strong experience in budget planning, resource allocation, and cost control.
- Solid understanding of sustainable engineering practices and the unique challenges of operating in a tropical climate.
