The Role
As a Finance Assistant (Main Cashier), you will be the primary point of contact for financial transactions, ensuring the seamless management of daily cash flows, insurance premiums, and claim payments. You will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while providing exceptional service to our clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Excellence: Accurately receive and process insurance premiums, claim payments, and other monetary transactions.
- Cash Management: Manage the daily cash register, ensure precise opening/closing balances, and facilitate secure bank deposits.
- Reporting & Reconciliation: Prepare daily cash reports and reconcile all transactions against accounting records to ensure zero discrepancies.
- Customer Engagement: Professionally handle customer and broker inquiries regarding payments and receipts.
- Compliance & Support: Adhere to internal financial controls and confidentiality protocols while supporting departmental audits.
- Modern Finance Integration: Verify digital premium payments (online transfers/mobile wallets) and assist with KYC documentation for walk-in clients (Market Update).
The Ideal Candidate
- Successful completion of higher secondary education or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and proven cash-handling skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
- A high degree of integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Experience: Prior experience in a cashiering or finance role within an insurance or financial institution is a distinct advantage.
- Technical Savvy: Proficiency in ERP systems, insurance accounting software, and advanced Microsoft Excel is highly preferred (Market Update).
