Job Description
Job title
Business Development & Client Relationship Officer
- Compensation: LKR 100,000 – 170,000 per month
- Engagement type: Full-time
- Work schedule: Remote, aligned to AEST business hours, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday
About us
We are Australian-based property care and cleaning company with over 15 years of experience. We are an NDIS-certified provider delivering commercial, industrial, domestic and NDIS cleaning and property services across the Sydney metropolitan area.
About the role
We are looking for someone to own our growth. You will bring in new business, build the sales and marketing strategy behind it, onboard NDIS participants and commercial clients properly, and make sure the money comes in the door.
This is not an order-taking role. We want someone who plans, initiates and drives — who brings us ideas about where the next revenue is coming from and how to generate it. It will suit a proactive remote professional who works independently, protects confidential information, improves the way things are done, and takes work off management's plate.
Key responsibilities
Business development & growth strategy
- Take the initiative in planning and driving business development strategy — identify where our next growth is coming from and build the plan to get there
- Generate new business through direct marketing, online directories, referral networks, cold calling and cold emailing
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, families, referrers, support coordinators, plan managers, strata managers, facility managers and community networks
- Research potential clients and new market segments across our commercial, industrial, domestic and NDIS service lines, and follow up every lead
- Promote our services, brand and values through professional engagement, referral initiatives and online channels
- Maintain a live sales pipeline in the CRM and report weekly on activity, conversions and opportunities
- Bring recommendations to management on pricing, positioning, target markets and partnership opportunities
Sales & marketing strategy
- Develop and implement marketing strategies for the business, and measure what works
- Create and coordinate social media and digital content across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Manage and improve our online presence, including directory listings and Google Business Profile
- Develop capability statements, promotional material and tender content for commercial and NDIS audiences
- Run email marketing and client campaigns
- Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients, understand their needs, explain our services and funding pathways, and convert enquiries into active clients
- Qualify enquiries, prepare accurate quotations, and follow up every quote on schedule until you get an answer
- Maintain a conversion rate of 70% or higher
NDIS onboarding, administration & compliance
- Prepare, issue and maintain intake forms, referrals, Service Agreements, schedules of support, participant documentation and related onboarding records
- Ensure participant documents are complete, accurate, confidential, and aligned with NDIS requirements and NDIS Practice Standards
- Provide a clear, complete handover to operations, rostering and service delivery teams after onboarding
- Monitor early-stage client satisfaction, manage feedback professionally and support strong ongoing client relationships
- Support compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, legislative and regulatory obligations, and organisational policies
- Assist with internal audits, audit preparation, evidence collection, incident reporting, restrictive practices documentation and quality improvement activities
Invoicing & debt collection
- Ensure new clients are set up correctly for invoicing from day one, with the right scope, pricing and frequency
- Follow up outstanding and overdue invoices professionally and persistently
- Own the debtors list — track ageing accounts, set the follow-up rhythm, and escalate to management before accounts become a problem
Systems, administration & process improvement
- Manage and update internal systems including our CRM, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Xero, Canva and online forms
- Provide executive and administrative support, including diary and inbox management, reporting, data entry, document control and general office support
- Process timesheets, payroll-related information, bookkeeping tasks, bank reconciliations and basic finance administration where required
- Support HR administration, employee onboarding, personnel records and related people processes
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, improve systems and introduce practical automation or AI-enabled efficiencies
About you
Essential
- A relevant tertiary qualification (business, marketing, commerce, administration or similar)
- Experience in sales, business development or account management — ideally in cleaning, facilities management, property services, NDIS or a related service industry
- A track record of taking initiative; bringing ideas forward, planning your own approach and executing without close supervision
- Confident on the phone and comfortable with outbound activity, including cold calling
- Strong written and spoken English for quotations, agreements, client correspondence and stakeholder management
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail — compliance paperwork must be right
- Confident with CRM systems and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage competing priorities and handle confidential information appropriately
Highly regarded
- Working knowledge of NDIS administration — participant intake, Service Agreements, compliance documentation, plan management support and client coordination
- High-level administration or executive assistant experience supporting management
- Accounts receivable or debt collection experience
- Bookkeeping or Xero or experience
- Experience preparing or tender responses
- Marketing, social media or content creation skills
The attitude we're looking for
- Proactive and self-directed. You anticipate what management needs, spot gaps before they become problems, and take ownership of workflows rather than waiting for direction. You are resourceful — comfortable researching solutions and figuring things out on your own.
- High emotional intelligence and discretion. Working in the NDIS sector calls for empathy, confidentiality and tact. You have a warm, person-centred approach with real operational efficiency.
- Outcome-focused. We value results over mismanagement and we respect your time. In return, a growing business occasionally needs flexibility and a willingness to go the extra mile when something is genuinely urgent.
Work arrangement & expectations
This is a remote, full-time independent contractor engagement. Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
- Work exclusively for us on a full-time basis, without other employment or ongoing client commitments
- Provide a nationwide police clearance from your country of residence, and complete any additional background checks we require for NDIS compliance purposes
- Maintain a reliable high-speed internet connection, a quiet workspace, and your own secure, professional-grade laptop and smartphone
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding our business and our participants, and not disclose or list this engagement on LinkedIn or any other public social media platform
What we offer
- Competitive monthly Salary
- Enjoy the work-life balance of a fully remote, work-from-home position
- Christmas Bonus
- An established business with 15+ years behind it and genuine room to build
