TECHNICIAN – MECHANICAL (Staff Category)

We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician (Fitter) to join our factory’s engineering team at Teejay Lanka PLC. The primary focus of this role is to support factory maintenance operations through hands-on mechanical work, ensuring the smooth operation of production and utility machinery by addressing breakdowns, conducting preventive maintenance, and performing mechanical fabrications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance activities assigned such as Preventive Maintenance, Breakdown Maintenance within the factory premises, attending to mechanical breakdowns promptly to maximize the machine operations and to minimize production downtime.
• Conduct repair and maintenance of service machinery, including boilers, air compressors, thermic heaters, and other utility systems.
• Engage in mechanical fabrication tasks, such as cutting, welding, and fitting for machinery repairs, modifications, and construction works.
• Carry out machine shop activities, including machining and fabrication work, as required for maintenance tasks.
• Support any additional maintenance-related assignments given by the engineering department.

The Person

The potential candidate should have passed GCE Ordinary Level and should possess a full-time Technical Course from ATI/ CGTTI/ NAITA/ NCT or an equivalent course in relevant field along with 2 to 5 years of service & experience as a Technician-Mechanical in a reputed Industrial environment (experience in a fabric mill is preferable), and he should be a young result oriented good team player who can work in a highly dynamic & demanding environment.
