Role Overview:

We are seeking experienced and commercially astute Area Managers to lead and transform branch networks across assigned regions. This pivotal leadership role demands a results-driven professional capable of driving sustainable business growth, maximizing profitability, strengthening portfolio quality, and fostering a high-performance culture. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the Bank's regional strategy, accelerating SME and Retail Banking growth, enhancing customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across multiple branches.

Key Responsibilities:
n
n- Drive the achievement of financial targets and ensure branches operate as profitable business units.
n- Develop and implement regional business strategies to expand the customer base and enhance profitability.
n- Lead the growth of SME lending portfolios across branches, ensuring the achievement of budgeted lending targets with a focus on mid-sized and large SME segments.
n- Ensure the growth of CASA deposits, overall liabilities, and branch profitability across the assigned region through strategic business development, sales leadership, and effective portfolio management.
n- Identify cross-selling opportunities and guide branch teams in strengthening customer relationships, improving acquisition, retention, and wallet share.
n- Exercise strong oversight of branch lending portfolios, proactively managing delinquency, minimizing non-performing advances, and actively supporting recovery efforts.
n- Monitor and drive the performance of Branch Managers and branch teams against established KPIs and business objectives.
n- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to branch teams, fostering a high-performance culture built on accountability, service excellence, and employee engagement.

Candidate Prerequisites:
n
n- Full professional qualification in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL).
n- A Bachelor's Degree in Banking & Finance, Business Management, or a related field from a recognized university or professional institution will be considered an added advantage.
n- Professional qualifications in Credit Management or related disciplines will be viewed favorably.
n- Minimum of 15 years' experience in Commercial Banking, including at least 08 years in Branch Management with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
n- Comprehensive knowledge of Retail Banking, SME Banking, Credit Evaluation, and Portfolio Management.
n- Proven ability to lead within a performance-driven environment while maintaining a strong customer-centric and service-oriented approach.
n- Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and people leadership skills, with the ability to effectively engage customers, staff, and business partners.
n- Strong business acumen with the ability to drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence across multiple business lines.
