SENIOR ENGINEER ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage overall operation and maintenance of the biomass power plant.
- Ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operation and achieve generation and availability targets.
- Monitor and improve plant efficiency, specific fuel consumption (SFC) and auxiliary power consumption.
- Manage biomass fuel supply, quality, stock, handling and consumption.
- Oversee boiler, steam turbine, generator, electrical, mechanical and control systems.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance, including annual shutdowns.
- Manage plant engineers, operators, technicians, contractors and other plant personnel.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Manage O&M budgets, spare parts, procurement and cost-control activities.
- Coordinate with grid/utility authorities, OEMs, suppliers and contractors.
- Monitor plant KPIs and prepare daily, monthly and management performance reports.
- Drive continuous improvement to increase reliability, efficiency and profitability.
- Knowledge of water treatment plant, cooling tower operations and water chemistry.
REQUIREMENTS
- BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy or equivalent with a Master’s degree.
- Minimum 6-10 years of relevant industrial/power plant experience, preferably in biomass or thermal power generation.
- Previous experience in a Plant Manager/Senior Engineer or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of biomass boilers, steam turbines, generators, electrical systems and plant auxiliaries.
- Experience in plant O&M, maintenance planning, troubleshooting and shutdown management.
- Good knowledge of HSE, environmental and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication and team-management skills.
