Safety Officer (Full Time)

Primary Objective
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to ensure compliance with site safety requirements and maintain a safe and healthy working environment at our Kilinochchi project site.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the site safety plan, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks.
- Enforce the use of PPE and ensure compliance with site safety guidelines, local labour laws, factory ordinance, and ICTAD/CIDA safety practices.
- Identify hazards, investigate incidents, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and consultants on safety matters.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
- Conduct safety training and awareness programs.
Qualifications
- Recognized qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (such as a National Certificate/Diploma in Industrial Safety, Construction Safety, or equivalent acceptable to the employer).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction safety management, with at least 3 years in multi-storey building projects or similar works.
- Thorough knowledge of local labour laws, factory ordinance, ICTAD/CIDA safety guidelines, and site safety practices.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to conduct site inspections, incident investigations, and prepare safety reports.
- Preference will be given to candidates from JAFFNA / KILINOCHCHI.
