PURCHASING EXECUTIVE

LOCATION : ANURADHAPURA

This role demands strict adherence to procurement procedures, strong vendor management capability, and the ability to operate under pressure in a hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and control all purchasing activities in line with approved budgets, policies, and hotel operational requirements
  • Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage suppliers for Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, and General Stores
  • Ensure timely availability of materials while maintaining optimal stock levels and minimizing wastage
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations, prepare comparative statements, and secure approvals as per delegated authority limits
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier contracts, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
  • Coordinate closely with Stores, Finance, and User Departments to ensure seamless procurement operations
  • Monitor supplier performance, pricing trends, and market availability to ensure best value for money
  • Ensure full compliance with internal controls, hotel SOPs, audit requirements, and statutory regulations
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and enforce strict procurement discipline across all department

Candidate Profile :

  • Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related discipline
  • Professional certifications in procurement or logistics will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry
  • Sound knowledge of hotel purchasing processes, inventory control, and cost management
  • Strong negotiation skills with a firm, ethical, and result-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight operational deadlines
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel is mandatory
  • Strong coordination and communication skills across departments
