Position: Manager / Assistant Manager – Warehouse

A reputed pharmaceutical organization based in Sri Lanka.

Location: Kurunegala, Sri Lanka

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and inventory control.
  • Ensure pharmaceutical products and materials are stored and handled in accordance with GMP, GDP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure optimum stock accuracy through regular cycle counts and stock reconciliations.
  • Manage FEFO/FIFO practices, batch controls, expiry monitoring, and proper segregation of materials.
  • Oversee storage conditions, including temperature-controlled and other special storage requirements where applicable.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning, and Finance teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Monitor warehouse KPIs, stock movements, ageing, damages, returns, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation related to receipts, transfers, dispatches, returns, and stock adjustments.
  • Lead and supervise warehouse employees while ensuring productivity, safety, discipline, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Support internal, external, and regulatory audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Drive continuous improvements in warehouse processes, space utilization, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant warehouse experience within the pharmaceutical industry is mandatory.
  • Only candidates with pharmaceutical industry experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in managing pharmaceutical warehouse and inventory operations.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, GDP, FEFO/FIFO, batch management, expiry control, and pharmaceutical storage requirements.
  • Experience in inventory reconciliation, stock audits, cycle counting, and warehouse documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/WMS systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms will be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, team management, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.
