Barista/Bartender Vacancies

Malkoha Specialty Cafe & Bar – Dickwella, Sri Lanka

Located directly on Pehembiya Beach in Hirketiya, Malkoha Specialty Cafe and Bar is committed to setting a new standard for hospitality in Sri Lanka. We are a progressive, quality-driven restaurant built around exceptional food, outstanding service and a genuine passion for the industry.

We are currently expanding our barista team and are looking for motivated, passionate and hardworking individuals to join us at Malkoha Specialty Cafe & Bar.

Please Note: Applicants from the Dickwella/Hiriketiya/Tangalle area will be preferred.

Barista

At Malkoha, our coffee programme is central to our identity, and we are committed to helping shape the future of Sri Lanka’s evolving specialty coffee culture. As part of this commitment, we installed Sri Lanka’s first Modbar system, creating a distinctive, open workspace that encourages interaction between our baristas and guests. We believe great coffee is about more than what is in the cup; it is also about sharing knowledge, building connections, and creating an engaging experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years barista experience
• Deep understanding of local coffee varietals & roasters
• Expertise in shot extraction and brewing techniques
• Passion for sharing coffee knowledge and answering customer questions
• Confident with communicating
• Excellent command of English

Bartenders

We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled bartenders to join our bar team.

Malkoha has a considered drinks offering that includes cocktails, local spirits, beer, wine, coffee and non-alcoholic drinks. We are looking for people who are interested in drinks and hospitality and who want to develop their knowledge and skills in a creative, quality-focused environment.

Requirements:

• Previous bartending experience preferred
• Good knowledge of cocktails and basic bar service
• Interest in spirits, cocktails, coffee and beverages
• Good command of English
• Ability to work quickly and accurately during busy service
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organisation and presentation
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to maintain consistent quality and service standards
