SLIIT invites applications for the position of Psychologist (Independent Contract) at the SLIIT Matara Centre.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing psychological support, counselling, assessments, and therapeutic interventions to SLIIT students and staff.
- Conducting screenings, developing individualized treatment plans, and maintaining clinical records.
- Delivering awareness programs and training related to psychological well-being.
- Preparing assessments, counselling, and medico-legal reports as required.
- Collaborating with campus partners (such as student services, academic affairs, medical officers, faculty) to support mental health and well-being.
- Practicing ethically in line with professional standards and the SLIIT Code of Conduct, while performing assigned duties within the role scope.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree or recognised professional qualification in a relevant field from a recognised university/institution
- A minimum of ten years’ experience in a relevant field, including demonstrated psychotherapy experience with both individuals and groups. Experience in the higher education sector will be an added advantage
- Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse clientele
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with students and staff.
