Assistant Manager / Senior Executive – Quality
A leading multinational tyre manufacturing company in Sri Lanka
Location: Biyagama, Sri Lanka
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Quality Manager in maintaining and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS) and Integrated Management System (IMS) across manufacturing operations.
- Manage quality documentation, procedures, records, technical data, and compliance requirements in line with ISO standards and internal quality controls.
- Participate in internal, external, product, and process audits, identify nonconformities, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with relevant teams.
- Analyse quality deviations, process issues, customer complaints, and nonconformities to identify root causes and drive sustainable improvements.
- Support product and process quality activities, tyre testing, inspection requirements, test-result evaluation, and quality investigations.
- Coordinate metrology and calibration activities, including verification, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and control of gauges and measuring instruments.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to strengthen process control, product quality, compliance, and operational consistency.
- Support quality-related training, awareness programmes, corrective actions, and continuous-improvement initiatives across the plant.
Requirements:
- Diploma, HND/NDT, or Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Rubber Technology, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
- 3–5 years of relevant Quality Management experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of QMS, EMS, OH&SMS, ISO requirements, integrated management systems, and quality-compliance practices.
- Internal Auditor training is required; exposure to VDA 6.3 will be an added advantage.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, process and product quality, nonconformity analysis, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Practical exposure to metrology, calibration, measuring instruments, measurement accuracy, and MSA will be advantageous.
- Previous exposure to tyre, rubber, automotive-component, or related manufacturing environments will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, decision-making, technical judgement, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
