Biomedical Service Assistant
Males only
Pre-requisites
- Education: GCE A/L in Biology and Mathematics paired with technical training, or an Associate's degree/Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Experience: Entry-level positions may require no prior experience or up to 1 year of hands-on exposure in a hospital, clinic, or electronics workshop setting.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks like bending or standing during equipment rounds.
- Certifications: Basic safety or industry certifications (such as CPR or introductory electronics credentials) are a plus.
Basic Knowledge Required
- Basic Electronics & Electricity: Understanding circuits, voltage, wiring, and how to safely use testing tools like multimeters.
- Medical Equipment Operation: Familiarity with common clinical and patient-care devices (such as monitors, infusion pumps, and hospital beds).
- Tools and Hardware: Knowing how to use standard hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, and soldering irons) for minor assembly and adjustments.
- Medical Terminology & Safety: Understanding hospital terminology and critical electrical safety standards to prevent patient and staff injury.
- Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency in using software, spreadsheets, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to log repairs and track inventory.
