Waters Edge, a benchmark of Sri Lankan hospitality, is seeking a skilled and experienced Manager – Outdoor Catering to lead and oversee its outdoor catering operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, service standards, and customer satisfaction. The role is responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing client relationships, coordinating off-site catering events, and ensuring efficient operational planning, resource allocation, and financial performance. Manager - Outdoor Catering
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all outdoor catering operations, including corporate events, weddings, private functions, and special events.
- Develop and manage catering proposals, menus, quotations, and event packages in line with client requirements.
- Identify new business opportunities and build strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and other potential customers.
- Coordinate with Kitchen, F&B, Logistics, Procurement, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless event execution.
- Ensure high standards of food quality, service delivery, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage event budgets, costing, pricing, and operational expenses to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Oversee the allocation and management of staff, equipment, transportation, and other resources required for outdoor events.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure proper planning, setup, and execution of off-site catering events.
- Monitor client feedback, resolve service-related issues, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with hotel standards, food safety, hygiene, and health and safety requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the hotel or hospitality industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Proven experience in managing outdoor catering operations, weddings, corporate events, and large-scale functions.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, menu planning, costing, budgeting, and event management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop business opportunities, generate revenue, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Excellent leadership, team management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Good command of English and proficiency in MS Office applications.
