SPORTS COORDINATOR

The British School in Colombo (BSC) is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and highly organised Sports Coordinator to join our dynamic school community and play an important role in shaping the sporting experience of our students.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can bring energy, organisation and a genuine passion for sport to a busy and vibrant international school.

YOUR ROLE:

As our Sports Coordinator, you will be at the heart of school sport, helping to create an engaging, inclusive and well-organised sporting programme for our students.

You will:

  • Coordinate and support school sports fixtures, tournaments and competitions.
  • Create opportunities for students to participate in sport at different levels.
  • Work closely with PE teachers, coaches and staff to support the delivery of the sports programme.
  • Encourage students to develop their skills, confidence, teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Organise fixtures, tournaments, schedules, meetings and sporting events.
  • Liaise confidently with parents, students, staff, coaches and other schools.
  • Maintain accurate records of fixtures, results, participation and sporting activities.
  • Support the administration and day-to-day organisation of the PE and Sports Department.
  • Help ensure sporting events are delivered smoothly, professionally and safely.
  • Contribute to building a positive, inclusive and exciting sporting culture across the School.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?:

We are looking for someone who is energetic, proactive and passionate about sport, with the organisational and communication skills to make things happen.

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least one year’s experience as a Sports Coordinator in a school environment.
  • A genuine passion for sport and working with children and young people.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Good ICT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • The confidence to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, coaches and external schools.
  • Experience organising fixtures, tournaments, competitions and sporting events.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated and collaborative team.
  • A positive, flexible and solution-focused attitude.
  • The willingness to work additional hours and weekends when required.
