SENIOR BIOMEDICAL TECHNICIAN / BIOMEDICAL TECHNICIAN

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • BSc in Biomedical Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEng) in Instrumentation Technology, HND in Biomedical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in medical equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration within a healthcare environment.
  • Sound knowledge of biomedical engineering documentation, asset management, and quality standards.
  • Good computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
    • Preferred Competencies:
    • Experience with patient monitors, ECG machines, infusion pumps, ventilators, defibrillators, anesthesia machines, ultrasound machines, and other critical care equipment.
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and minimize downtime.
  • Assist in installation, commissioning, and calibration of medical equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance records, calibration logs, and biomedical engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and provide technical support to clinical users.
