VACANCY
ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (COSTING)
LAKE HOUSE - The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL), widely known as Lake House, the premier print media institution in Sri Lanka, invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and dynamic professionals to fill the position of Assistant Accountant (Costing).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field, with two (02) years of relevant experience in an Executive or above position.
- OR Part-qualified in ICASL / CIMA / CMA / ACCA, or AAT Qualified, with a minimum of three (03) years' relevant experience in an Executive position or above position.
- OR Relevant NVQ (L7) qualification with 03 years' relevant experience in a Executive or above Position or NVQ 5/NVQ 6 qualification with a minimum of six (06) years' relevant experience in an executive or above position.
- Experience in Manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and Accounting Software will be an added advantage.
- A sound knowledge of Costing, Inventory Control & Production related Accounting.
- Ability to analyze data and think critically.
- Capable of working under minimum supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of product and production costs.
- Monitor material, labor, and overhead costs.
- Support inventory valuation and cost control activities.
- Prepare costing reports and provide timely information to management.
- Assist in month-end and year-end accounting activities related to costing.
