FINANCE MANAGER
Serendipity Retreats & Leisure (Pvt) Ltd, is a luxury boutique resort and villa service provider specialising in authentic and unique experiences across Sri Lanka. We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Finance Manager to lead the finance function of our multi-property hospitality operation.
The successful candidate will oversee financial planning, reporting, controls and strategic financial advisory across our managed properties, while acting as a key business partner to ownership and operations to drive profitability, financial discipline and sustainable growth across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee consolidated financial reporting across all managed hotels, villas and resorts, including monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow consolidation.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range financial planning at both property and Group level.
- Manage working capital, cash flow and treasury across multiple operating entities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, taxation and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and enforce effective internal controls, SOPs and audit-readiness procedures across all properties.
- Partner with Property General Managers and Operations teams on cost control, revenue optimisation and departmental profitability, with knowledge of USALI standards preferred.
- Lead the financial evaluation of procurement, capital expenditure and major vendor contracts.
- Support the ownership and Board with investor reporting, financial due diligence and feasibility studies for new projects.
- Oversee payroll and HR-related cost structures and manage finance BPO relationships where applicable.
- Maintain effective relationships with auditors, banks, tax authorities and financial consultants.
- Mentor and develop property-level finance teams and strengthen financial capabilities across the Group.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
- A professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA is required.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role within hospitality, hotel management or multi-property operations.
- Strong knowledge of USALI, hotel P&L structures and hospitality KPIs, including RevPAR, GOPPAR and ADR.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
- Experience with hotel PMS and accounting systems such as Opera, Xero, QuickBooks or equivalent systems.
- Proven experience in financial consolidation across multiple legal entities and properties.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to present financial information and strategic recommendations to the Board and ownership.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the Sri Lankan or South Asian hospitality market.
- Exposure to luxury boutique hotels, villas or resort operations.
- Experience in multi-property hotel management environments.
- Knowledge of hospitality revenue management and operational performance optimisation.
