Assistant Manager / Senior Executive - Taxation (Corporate Office)
- A Corporate Level qualification or above of CA Sri Lanka, together with a qualification or part-qualification from the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
- A minimum of three (03) years of hands-on experience in taxation.
- Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan tax regulations and administrative provisions on CIT, VAT and SSCL.
- Proven experience in handling IRD audits, assessments and VAT refunds.
- Previous experience in construction industry will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit file Corporate Income Tax (CIT), VAT, SSCL and Stamp Duty returns accurately within the stipulated deadlines.
- Ensure the timely payment of all applicable taxes.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of tax accounts with the general ledger and ensure their accuracy.
- Monitor changes in tax laws IRD circulars and other regulatory requirements, and ensure their timely implementation.
- Maintain accurate and complete tax records and supporting documentation to facilitate audits, compliance reviews and reporting requirements.
- Manage IRD tax audits, assessments and related correspondence.
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to IRD notices and queries to minimize the risk of penalties, interest and other additional charges.
- Liaise with IRD officers and attend meetings as required.
- Manage VAT refund processes and ensure the timely recovery of VAT refunds.
- Assist the Finance Department with financial-reporting activities.
