Key Responsibilities

Academic & Departmental Leadership

  • Lead the day-to-day academic operations, timetable scheduling, and curriculum execution for undergraduate IT degree programs.
  • Ensure program alignment with official national higher education standards, learning outcomes, and institutional quality guidelines.
  • Supervise, mentor, and coordinate full-time academic staff, temporary tutors, and visiting lecturers within the department.
  • Manage overall departmental resource allocation, including human resources (teaching workload distribution, invigilation duties, staff deployment), physical hardware/software lab allocations, and specialized networking/security software licensing.
  • Conduct academic workload planning to ensure optimal teaching loads, efficiency, and quality delivery.

Lecturing

  • Deliver engaging lectures, interactive tutorials, and hands-on laboratory sessions.
  • Design, review, and continually update comprehensive teaching materials, practical lab workbooks, and assignment briefs reflecting modern industry standards.
  • Construct, conduct, and grade module assessments, mid-semester tests, final examinations, and continuous assessment components.
  • Provide constructive, timely feedback on student coursework and practical laboratory performance.
  • Supervise undergraduate final-year research projects, practical capstone developments, and industry-oriented dissertations.
  • Maintain active hands-on proficiency with modern networking and security toolsets.
  • Conduct regular academic support hours, tutorial assistance, and student guidance.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master’s Degree (MSc) or MPhil in Cyber Security, Network Security, Information Technology, or Computer Science from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of lecturing experience at the undergraduate level, with exposure to academic coordination, module leadership, or administrative management.
  • Strong academic leadership, operational management, staff workload management, student-centric focus, and interpersonal communication skills.
