Assistant Automobile Engineer – Motorcycle
Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
About the Role
We are seeking a technically competent and hands-on Assistant Automobile Engineer to support our motorcycle assembly, technical operations, quality control, and production activities.
The ideal candidate will have 3 – 4 years of practical experience working with motorcycles, preferably in motorcycle assembly, servicing, quality assurance, or technical operations. The candidate should be comfortable working both on the production floor and with technical documentation, inspections, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the motorcycle assembly and production process, from component inspection through final assembly.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and assembly guidelines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
- Identify recurring defects and assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Prepare technical reports, inspection records, and defect reports.
- Maintain accurate records of technical issues, warranty/fixed issues, and corrective actions.
- Ensure that workshop and production activities comply with applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with technicians, production staff, and other relevant departments to ensure efficient technical and production operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, production efficiency, and assembly standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3 – 4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably involving motorcycles.
- Practical experience in motorcycle diagnosis, servicing, assembly, or technical inspection.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with technicians and production personnel.
- Good communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience in any of the following areas will have an added advantage:
- Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC).
- Preparation of SOPs, work instructions, inspection checklists, and technical reports.
- Motorcycle assembly or manufacturing operations.
- Production process improvement and defect analysis.
