VACANCY – SENIOR CAD/CAM OPERATOR & WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR
We are looking for an experienced CAD/CAM Operator/ Workshop Supervisor who can independently manage and operate our CNC machining workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare CAD models, CAM programs and CNC toolpaths.
- Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines.
- Plan machining processes, tooling, workholding, feeds and speeds.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
- Manage day-to-day workshop activities and production schedules.
- Ensure component quality, dimensional accuracy and timely completion of jobs.
- Troubleshoot machining and production-related issues.
- Maintain proper usage of machines, cutting tools and workshop equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in CNC machining and CAD/CAM programming.
- Strong knowledge of CNC milling and/or turning.
- Ability to independently handle jobs from drawing/model → CAM programming → machine setup → machining → inspection.
- Experience with SOLIDWORKS / SolidCAM or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
- Good knowledge of cutting tools, machining parameters, measuring instruments and engineering tolerances.
- Ability to independently run and coordinate a CNC workshop.
Educational Qualifications
- NVQ Level 4/5 or above in CNC Machining, Tool & Die, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field.
- NDT / HNDE / HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Certificate/Diploma in CAD/CAM, CNC Machining or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized technical institution.
