EXECUTIVE – MARINE UNDERWRITING

Duties & Responsibilities
- Handle quotations, policy issue, endorsements, refunds, debit notes, receipts, renewal notices and related documentation for Travel, Fishing Boat and Hull Outboard Motor Insurance.
- Review and verify underwriting documents and information received from business channels, banks, intermediaries, leasing companies, branches, agents and brokers.
- Monitor and follow up on renewals, outstanding premiums/debits, payments, refunds and credit notes to ensure timely settlement.
- Prepare underwriting statistics, premium statements, claims reports, risk profiles and management information reports.
- Coordinate underwriting inspection fees, Fisheries Inspector payments and overseas service provider payments.
- Handle daily inquiries, customer requests and correspondence with branches, agents, brokers, leasing companies, travel agents, government authorities and other stakeholders.
- Prepare letters, memos, endorsements and other policy-related correspondence and attend to changes and requirements throughout the policy period.
- Supervise, guide and train Assistants and support training programmes for branch staff on Travel and Hull/Fishing Boat insurance.
- Maintain ISO compliance requirements relating to Fishing Boat Underwriting and support relevant regulatory/government meetings when delegated.
- Conduct customer visits for new and existing business and maintain good customer relationships.
- Support the Marine Underwriting team in special projects and other assignments entrusted by the Senior Manager.

Qualifications & Pre-requisites
- Degree / Special Degree / Professional Qualification or equivalent qualification related to the functional area, from a University/Institute approved by the UGC.
- 1 - 2 Year experience in similar capacity.
- Ability to speak English, Sinhala/Tamil.
- Decision making & Analytical skills,
- Good Leadership and team work
- Communication, Ability work under pressure.
- Age should be below 35 years.
