Laboratory Assistant – Havelock Town

We are looking for an inspiring person for the post of Laboratory Assistant at Havelock Town branch to support the students learning process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare materials and assemble, disassemble, clean and store equipment needed for individual and group laboratory experiments.
- Schedule preparation of lab experiments.
- Store and dispose of hazardous wastes using safety procedures.
- Maintain inventory system of all science supplies and special equipment. Coordinate purchase of all science supplies and special equipment.
- Coordinate purchase of all science supplies and special equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance of laboratory equipment (service or replace).
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
- Enforce lab safety codes in all science lab areas to assure student and employee safety. Performing other related duties.
- Performing other related duties.
Skills & Capabilities
- A Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Applied Sciences, Laboratory Sciences, or a related field from a recognised university.
- Candidates with a BSc in a relevant scientific discipline will be given preference.
- Practical knowledge of laboratory equipment, experimental procedures, safety standards, and laboratory maintenance will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience working in a school, university, educational facility, or laboratory would be an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
