Full-Stack Web Developer
Six-Month Contract • On-site

Xero Lanka is developing a new digital platform focused on connecting travellers with unique accommodation experiences across Sri Lanka. From boutique hotels and luxury villas to treehouses, jungle retreats, beach houses and hidden architectural gems, our vision is to create a platform that transforms the way people discover places to stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and launch the website from scratch.
- Build responsive and user-friendly frontend for desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
- Develop backend systems, databases, APIs and server-side functionality.
- Create property listing pages with photographs, descriptions, facilities, pricing, locations and availability information.
- Implement search and filtering features to help users discover suitable properties.
- Develop a secure administrative dashboard for managing property listings and website content.
- Implement user authentication and other required account functionality.
- Integrate third-party services (maps, email, analytics, booking/payment systems, etc.).
- Apply SEO best practices and optimize website performance, speed and accessibility.
- Test, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Deploy the website and maintain security, backups and documentation.
- Work closely with the team to understand business requirements and deliver project milestones.
- Provide complete technical documentation and a structured handover at the end of the contract.
Requirements & Skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Web Development or a related field.
- Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern web development practices.
- Practical understanding of frontend and backend development.
- Familiarity with at least one suitable frontend framework and one backend technology.
- Knowledge of databases, API integration and website architecture.
- Understanding of responsive design and UI/UX principles.
- Familiarity with Git or another version control system.
- Basic knowledge of website deployment, security, testing and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of SEO and website analytics will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Good time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn, explore new technologies and suggest improvements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
