EXECUTIVE BRIEF & RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

SENIOR PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY CHAIN CONSULTANT (PART-TIME / ADVISORY)

1. OPERATIONAL CONTEXT & ROLE SCOPE

Ferai International Trading & Manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd is expanding manufacturing operations in Sri Lanka, developing dedicated production lines for OEM paint brushes, rollers, and industrial hardware accessories. We are seeking a veteran Procurement & Supply Chain Consultant on an advisory / part-time retainer basis.

Target Candidate Profile: Recently retired senior procurement heads, purchasing managers, or supply chain directors looking to stay professionally engaged with flexible hours on a predictable monthly retainer.

2. SECTOR EXPERIENCE & CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Industry Specialization: Extensive, proven track record (20+ years) primarily within the Construction, Building Materials, Paints/Coatings, and Hardware sectors.
• Commercial & Marketing Edge: Commercial trade marketing experience and familiarity with dealer/distributor network dynamics will be considered an added bonus.
• Import Logistics & Customs: Comprehensive, practical mastery of Sri Lanka Customs clearance, HS code classification, tariff structures, and port documentation.
• Cost Auditing & Negotiation: Proven capacity to audit vendor cost build-ups, negotiate competitive unit prices, and establish solid payment terms.
• Supplier Network: Existing network of reliable local and international suppliers for raw materials (timber, ferrules, bristles, synthetic filaments, packaging, and steel wire).

3. KEY ADVISORY DELIVERABLES

• Structure lean procurement schedules to ensure continuous factory raw material availability.
• Guide import protocols, clearing agent coordination, and direct customs liaison.
• Evaluate vendor pricing proposals to safeguard operational margins and reduce unit production costs.
• Advise on supply chain risk mitigation, buffer stocks, and quality compliance.

4. ENGAGEMENT TERMS & DIRECT INQUIRIES

Engagement: Flexible part-time advisory / consulting retainer (2–3 days per week equivalent). Attractive, negotiable compensation package with the option of transitioning into a broader executive role as manufacturing output scales.
