Manager – Financial Reporting
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented manager of Financial Reporting to lead our financial reporting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the timely and accurate delivery of the Bank’s financial reporting, disclosure, General Ledger governance, product reporting. The role will provide strong review, analytical and stakeholder coordination capability while strengthening reporting controls, data quality and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures, the Annual Report, ensuring compliance with SLFRS/LKAS and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Perform analytical reviews of financial performance and position and provide insights to management in a timely manner.
- Oversee General Ledger governance activities, including GL creation, modification, closure, ownership, monitoring, Chart of Accounts maintenance and mapping across source systems, the Data Warehouse and reporting platforms.
- Review product accounting and reporting for assigned portfolios, including product-to-GL mapping, reconciliations, interest and balance validations, regulatory information and finance input to UAT or product changes.
- Coordinate information and responses for the CFO, Board and Board Audit Committee, CBSL, external and internal auditors, professional advisers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain strong financial-reporting controls, supporting documentation, policies, SOPs and audit trails, and ensure timely resolution of reporting and reconciliation issues.
- Develop, maintain and enhance Power BI reports and financial-reporting models, including GL mappings, validation controls, exception reporting and process automation.
Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified in CA / ACCA / CIMA or an equivalent internationally recognized professional qualification in accounting or finance.
- A minimum of 4-5 years’ relevant experience in accounting, auditing or financial reporting, preferably within banking or financial services.
- A finance- or accounting-related degree will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of SLFRS/LKAS, the Banking Act and directions, CBSL reporting requirements, Companies Act requirements and other regulations relevant to banks.
- Working experience in a reputed audit firm is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, review and problem-solving capability, with a high level of attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; practical knowledge of Power BI, data modelling or reporting automation will be a strong advantage.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management, auditors, regulators and cross-functional teams.
