INTERNAL AUDITOR
Colombo YMBA invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced and committed individuals for the position of Internal Auditor. This role offers an opportunity to strengthen accountability, sound governance and the effective stewardship of the Association’s resources.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and internal checks, and recommend practical improvements.
- Review the accuracy, completeness and reliability of accounting records and financial and management reports.
- Examine the controls over assets and resources to ensure their proper use and protection against loss, misuse and misappropriation.
- Assess compliance with approved policies, procedures, rules, regulations and applicable legal requirements.
- Conduct risk-based audits of financial and operational activities, identifying weaknesses, inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Prepare clear audit reports, communicate findings and recommendations, and follow up on corrective action.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Full membership of, or part-qualification with, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), and/or a degree in Accounting and Finance.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in auditing and/or internal audit.
- Sound IT literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and accounting software packages.
- A good command of written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with integrity, objectivity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Age: Below 50 years.
