ACCOUNTS EXECUTIVE
(CANDIDATES WITH EXPOSURE TO THE FREIGHT FORWARDING/SHIPPING INDUSTRY WILL BE GIVEN PREFERENCE)
WORK LOCATION : HEAD OFFICE, COLOMBO 07
A Well diversified conglomerate listed in the CSE, headquartered in Sri Lanka, with business presence ranging from Leisure, Tea, Renewable Energy, Investment Management and Advisory Services is scouting for an experienced and dynamic Accounts Executive, preferably from the freight forwarding and shipping industry.
We are expanding rapidly and extensively and seeking a candidate who can match our speed, contribute significantly, and gain valuable experience and exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger accounts.
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and supplier/customer reconciliations.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with monthly financial reporting.
- Handle freight forwarding and shipping-related accounting transactions, including freight charges, agency fees, and other operational expenses.
- Monitor outstanding customer balances and follow up on collections.
- Assist in preparing management accounts and supporting schedules.
- Assist with tax compliance and audit requirements.
Key Requirements
- Part qualification in AAT, CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA, or an equivalent accounting qualification.
- Previous experience in an accounting role, preferably in freight forwarding and shipping industry.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and MS Excel
- Experience with accounting software will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
