Accountant / Senior Accountant (UK Accounting)

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking experienced Accountants and Senior Accountants with strong backgrounds in UK accounting practices to manage end-to-end accounting activities for UK clients. The ideal candidates should possess strong technical accounting expertise, excellent communication skills and practical knowledge of AI-enabled accounting workflows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review UK statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105.
- Prepare and review Corporation Tax Returns (CT600) and supporting tax computations.
- Manage bookkeeping, VAT returns, bank reconciliations and management accounts.
- Prepare year-end adjustments, accruals, prepayments and financial statements.
- Handle Self Assessment Tax Returns (SATR) and CIS-related accounting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC and Companies House requirements.
- Review junior accountants' work and provide technical guidance.
- Communicate directly with UK clients and manage accounting deadlines.
- Utilise AI-powered accounting tools and automation to enhance accuracy, reporting efficiency and workflow productivity.
REQUIREMENTS
- Part-qualified or qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA / CA or equivalent professional qualification.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, including proven UK accountancy practice or offshore UK accounting experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK statutory accounts, Corporation Tax, VAT and bookkeeping.
- Hands-on experience with Xero and/or QuickBooks Online; knowledge of Sage, and/or other accounting software would be an advantage.
- Practical working knowledge of AI-powered tools and automation in accounting processes.
- Excellent English communication skills and the ability to communicate well with UK clients (similar previous experience is required).
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and review junior team members' work.
