HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
W.A. Perera & Company (Pvt) Ltd, a leader in Sri Lanka's quarry, aggregates, blocks, asphalt and ready-mix concrete industry, is seeking result-driven commercial leader to build and lead its commercial function.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Drive volume, revenue, gross profit and cash conversion by strengthening existing customer relationships, developing new markets, and securing the strategic supply that underpins profitable growth.
- Drive sales forecasting, pipeline management, cash conversion and sales accountability across the commercial team.
- Coach and develop the Sales & Marketing Division to a self-managing and accountable unit.
- Personally lead major new-business and strategic market-development opportunities requiring senior commercial intervention.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Mining and Legal to support the commercial case for unlocking WAPCO capacity.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A proven track record of taking control of and scaling a commercial function, with measurable, evidence-based results.
- Strong commercial and financial judgement, comfortable treating revenue, volume, price, margin, credit and cash as one integrated equation.
- Demonstrated experience building market-coverage systems and qualified sales pipelines from the ground up, not just managing the existing business.
- A genuine coach and people developer who builds capable managers leading from the front.
- A confident and credible negotiator with major customers, suppliers, contractors and authorities.
- Experience in industrial, construction materials or related B2B/manufacturing sectors will be an advantage.
- The judgement and maturity to drive cross-functional outcomes with Operations, Finance, Mining and Legal around shared commercial objectives.
