SEWING FOLDER MECHANIC

This position is important to ensure proper folder setting, quick troubleshooting and smooth production operations.

THE REQUIRED CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE:
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in the apparel industry.
- Good knowledge of industrial sewing machines and folder attachments.
- Ability to MAKE S/S FOLDER, D/S FOLDER, D/D FOLDER, HEM FOLDER, BOTTOM ELASTIC FOLDER, TUNNELS, ELASTIC FOLDER.
- Practical experience in folder setting, alignment, adjustment and troubleshooting.
- Ability to repair and modify folders according to production requirements.
- Experience with JUKI, Brother, Pegasus, Kansai, Yamato or similar machines will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of sewing quality and machine performance.
- Ability to work independently and support production requirements under pressure.
- Candidates living in close proximity to Katunayake will be preferred.
- Remuneration and designation will be based on qualifications and experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, set, adjust and maintain sewing machine folders and attachments.
- Set folders according to garment styles, fabric types and production requirements.
- Troubleshoot folder-related sewing defects and machine performance issues.
- Carry out mechanical adjustments, modifications and repairs to folders.
- Support production teams during new style / new line setup.
- Ensure correct folder alignment, feeding, folding and sewing performance.
- Work closely with mechanics, supervisors and production teams to improve machine efficiency.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure folders are maintained in good working condition.
- Maintain proper records of folder modifications, repairs and settings.
