Textile Graphic Artist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Textile Graphic Artist to develop and refine artwork for our apparel and swim collections. This role sits at the intersection of art and production, turning creative concepts into clean, print-ready files - from repeat patterns and recolored artwork to seasonal color CADs - while keeping Illustrator color libraries accurate and current every season. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for color and pattern, is fluent in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and thrives on precise, organized digital art files.
You are required to work remotely on USA hours and must be flexible with your working hours.
What you need to have
- Degree or coursework in Textile Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
- Prior experience in swimwear, activewear, or lifestyle apparel design.
- Familiarity with Pantone or other color-matching systems.
- 2+ years of experience in textile design, CAD artist, or apparel graphics role.
- Proficiency performing artwork edits - filtering, moving/repositioning elements, and general file refinement.
- Demonstrated ability to build accurate, seamless repeat patterns for textiles/apparel.
- Strong proficiency recoloring digital artwork in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience creating and filling color CADs for presentations.
- Experience maintaining and updating Illustrator color palettes to inform design decisions.
- Ability to research and analyze industry trends, competitors, and consumer preferences to inform design decisions.
- Strong documentation skills, including maintaining color standards and creating/updating design specifications and tech packs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive and stay organized in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, color accuracy, and file organization.
- Strong time-management skills and ability to manage multiple artwork requests against seasonal deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Artwork editing: Perform edits to existing artwork such as adding filters/effects, moving and repositioning elements, and refining files for production readiness.
- Repeat pattern development: Create clean, accurate repeat patterns (seamless, engineered, and placement) from original artwork for use on yardage, prints, and apparel.
- Color CADs: Create and fill color CADs for seasonal line presentations, sales meetings, and buy reviews.
- CAD management: Maintain the master Illustrator color palette and update the color palette file for design decisions.
- Trend analysis: Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor analysis, and consumer preferences to inform design decisions.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of color standards, print designs, and production specs; create and update design specifications and tech packs for production as necessary.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with the design and merchandising teams to ensure artwork, prints, and color align with seasonal concepts and brand direction.
- Materials handling: Manage file prep and hand-off; prepare final art files and specs for hand-off to mills and vendors as needed.
