WE ARE HIRING – ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
Location: No.84, Koralawella, Moratuwa

ABOUT US
A well-established Building Construction Company & Supermarket in Moratuwa are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Partly qualified in Chartered Accountancy (CA) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Previous experience in the construction industry will be an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of VAT, WHT, APIT and other statutory requirements applicable in Sri Lanka.
- Experience in handling Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger and monthly closing activities.
- Ability to assist in the preparation of management accounts, financial reports and budgets.
- Experience in project/job costing, supplier payments, material costs and construction-related accounting will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable activities and supplier payments.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with monthly closing procedures.
- Maintain general ledger entries and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Monitor project-related expenses, job costing and material costs.
- Assist with preparation of budgets, cash flow statements and financial analyses.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with project and procurement teams regarding invoices, payments and project costs.
- Assist the Finance Manager/Accountant in day-to-day financial and accounting activities.
