ACCOUNTANT

BGN Rubber Factory – Padukka

BGN Rubber Factory, a growing rubber manufacturing company with two sister companies, is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the complete accounting functions of the company and its two sister companies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ledgers and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and other financial reports.
  • Prepare and finalize annual financial statements / final accounts and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Handle taxation matters in consultation with the company’s tax consultant.
  • Liaise with the Inland Revenue Department and other relevant government authorities on taxation and statutory matters.
  • Ensure timely compliance with all tax, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in budgeting, costing and financial planning.
  • Maintain proper records relating to inventory, production costs and manufacturing expenses.
  • Coordinate with auditors, banks, suppliers, customers and other external parties when required.
  • Provide management with accurate financial information and financial advice to support business decision-making.
  • Supervise and guide junior accounting staff where necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Part or fully qualified professional qualification.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Sound knowledge of Sri Lankan accounting standards, taxation and statutory requirements.
  • Proven experience in preparing and finalizing annual financial statements.
  • Good knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the complete accounting function of a business.
  • Experience in handling manufacturing accounts, costing and inventory accounting will be an added advantage.
  • Any exposure to real estate industry will also be an added advantage.
