TECHNICAL OFFICER - MECHANICAL
Transport Division
We are looking for a dedicated and responsible Technical Officer (Mechanical) to join our Transport Division and manage the technical and maintenance activities of our fleet.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor daily operation and condition of company vehicles and heavy machinery
- Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs and preventive maintenance
- Maintain vehicle service and maintenance records
- Identify mechanical faults and coordinate necessary repairs
- Monitor fuel consumption, mileage and vehicle performance
- Coordinate with drivers, mechanics and external service providers
- Inspect vehicles before and after major repairs
- Ensure proper maintenance schedules are followed
- Assist in controlling maintenance costs and spare-parts requirements
- Prepare daily/monthly fleet maintenance reports
- Ensure vehicles are maintained in safe and roadworthy condition
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma / HND / NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile Engineering
- Previous experience in vehicle fleet, transport or heavy machinery maintenance will be an advantage
- Good knowledge of heavy vehicles, tipper, trucks and diesel engines
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and coordinate repairs
- Good computer skills and reporting ability
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Male / Female candidates are encouraged to apply
- Valid driving licence will be an added advantage
