Overview of the Job Responsibilities

The Assistant Engineer-Scaffolding will be responsible to oversee and manage all scaffolding-related activities on our construction site. The role includes ensuring that scaffolding systems are erected, maintained, and dismantled safely and in accordance with design and compliance standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of scaffolding erection and dismantling activities.
  • Work closely with site teams to ensure scaffolding availability aligns with construction progress.
  • Oversee scaffold installations and conduct quality inspections to verify compliance with design specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance to scaffolders, supervisors, and construction teams on best practices and procedures.
  • Implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and improve scaffold safety standards.
  • Organize and conduct toolbox talks and training sessions for workers on scaffolding safety procedures.
  • Manage and supervise assistant engineers and labour teams involved in scaffolding work.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and installation of scaffolding systems on various projects.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and project specifications are met.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to scaffolding during projects.
  • Provide regular updates to management and ensure all necessary documentation is maintained.

Education Required and Experience Required:

  • HNDE/NDT/NCT/NCIT/NDES in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably experience in civil/ building projects.
  • Exposure into scaffolding system will be an added advantage.

Competencies and Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of scaffolding materials, load calculations, and structural stability principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of scaffolding regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
