EXECUTIVE - INNOVATIONS
Location – Teejay Lanka PLC – Avissawella
We are seeking a passionate and driven Research & Innovation Engineer to join our team. This role will focus on advancing new product developments and driving innovation through collaborative research initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Polymer, Chemical, or Textile Engineering, and be experienced in both academic and industrial research environments.
Primary job role will be:
- Conduct research and development activities related to textile-based innovations.
- Drive both product-oriented and publication-oriented research initiatives.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including universities and research institutions, to develop collaborative projects.
- Support the patent filing and publication process, including technical documentation and data analysis.
- Carry out laboratory testing and product validation in external lab environments when required.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables by applying effective project management practices.
- Participate in cross-functional innovation discussions within the Design & Development team.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external roadshows.
The Person:
- A degree in Polymer, Chemical, or Textile Engineering.
- Strong research skills in both product-focused and publication-driven areas.
- Prior experience or familiarity with Academic/publication processes & Patent development or filing processes.
- Willingness to work in external lab environments, collaborating with Local and international Research institutions.
- Ability to work within defined timelines and deliver project milestones efficiently.
- Project management skills to coordinate research activities.
- An open-minded, collaborative spirit and a strong passion for innovation.
