ABOUT COMPANY

Afrisian Ginning Ltd (AGL) started business as a cotton ginner in 1997. Since its start AGL has sought at opportunities to increase its trading activities, both within the cotton sector and beyond. Today AGL has expanded its operations and product range to include oil seed crushing, rice milling, cleaning and export of peanuts, sesame seeds, maize and pulses such as green mung, yellow gram and pigeon peas.

AGL’s HQ are located in the port city of Dar es salaam, the commercial capital of Tanzania. With an extensive purchase network, dedicated staff, infrastructure, experience and understanding of products; AGL is able to provide a reliable market for the Tanzanian farmer. Enhanced by the support of reliable service providers and in-house logistics capacity, AGL can accommodate customer needs throughout the world.

AGL has diversified into Edible Oil Industry from Dec 2024. AGL commenced Refined Palm Oil Production with the Capacity of 300MT Per day. As a newly established edible oil refining company, we are committed to delivering high-quality, healthy, and sustainable products to the Tanzanian market and beyond. As we embark on this exciting journey, we are seeking a forward-thinking and detail-oriented Accounts Manager to join our founding team.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management:
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure effective and efficient financial operations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets, providing insights to management.
  • Monitor and review financial audits and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
General Accounting:
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Review and reconcile accounts, resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Maintain an updated and organized filing system for financial records and documentation.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and timely payment of taxes.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets, investigating and explaining variances.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for cost control and revenue enhancement initiatives.
Compliance and Reporting:
  • Stay updated with applicable accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports, statements, and disclosures as per legal and regulatory obligations.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management, board meetings, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures, as well as external compliance requirements.

QUALIFICATION

  • Preferring a Qualified CA with IT background.
  • Proficiency in ERP software such as SAP.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure and Meet Deadlines.
  • Advance Knowledge in MS Excel, Power BI, and other software package.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience (5- 7 Years) as an Accounts Manager or similar role in Any industry, preferably in the manufacturing / ginning sector.
  • Preferred prior experience in Manufacturing or Processing Industry.
  • Both relevant experience & a strong knowledge of Edible Oil Industry will be given preference.
  • Age Below 35.
  • Gender – Male only.

SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of taxation laws and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the ability to make informed decisions.
