Assistant Manager – Purchasing (Eravur)

Scope

The Assistant Manager – Purchasing will play a crucial role in the procurement of raw materials, machinery, and other supplies required for the efficient operation of a newly established fabric mill. This position requires strong vendor management, negotiation skills, and an understanding of textile industry procurement practices to ensure cost-effective and high-quality purchases.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of purchasing strategies.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchases to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.
  • Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports on procurement activities and supplier performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Ability of work in Batticaloa – Eravur.
