Assistant Accountant

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated person of good character with professional qualifications, ethics and with outstanding communication skills for the post of Assistant Accountant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Involve with implementing, maintain accounting & internal control procedures.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the company by making commercial and financial input both strategic and operational as a senior member of the finance team.
  • Make sure payments are made in a timely manner to secure supplier’s credit facilities while using credit periods.
  • Verify all payment entries to the system and ensure that correct ledger accounts are posted.
  • Coordination/support corporate budget process.
  • Compliance with all statutory requirements including payments, filing of returns, online submissions, liaising with IRD officials etc.
  • Maintain optimum petty cash balance ensuring all cash payments are duly approved and paid.
  • Manage import handling and costings.
  • Be responsible for month end closing entries.
  • Preparation and submission of management reports on due dates.
  • Assist to operational team to drive their targets through providing financial information and forecasts.
  • Manage external audits in a timely manner.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Part Qualified in Chartered Accountancy.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an assistant accountant in a reputed organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office application including advanced excel tools and ability to operate accounting software application of Quick Books.
  • Sound planning and organizing skills, analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent command of English, writing and presenting skills are essentially required.
  • The candidate should be an experienced person with strong positive attitudes and should be capable of handling subject matters.
