Ramya Horticulture (Pvt) Ltd. is an export-oriented BOI approved company established in 1998, specializing in the production and export of ornamental plants from its own nurseries and tissue culture facility. The company caters wide variety of high-quality tropical plants to markets in Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and South East Asia.

We are looking for

A dynamic and responsible candidate who has desired to bring the company to success with diversified experience and qualifications in overall Human Resource Management to be placed in the position of Human Resources & Administration Manager.

Job purpose

Human Resources & Administration Manager is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies related to recruitment, training and development, payroll and compensation benefits, health and safety and employee and labor relations. It includes administrative areas such as stores and all the stock items and office management, facilities management.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the management to understand business requirements and implement HR strategies accordingly.
  • Responsible for overall recruitment process, formulating job descriptions, screening and selections and on boarding process.
  • Upgrading, designing Recruitment policies and processes to effectively Speedline timely recruitments.
  • Implementing, directing and improving the Performance Evaluation System and the employee training and development activities of the company.
  • Establish career growth plans, succession plans, and Rewards and Recognition programs.
  • Coordinate with the Senior management on formulating HR policies, annual budgets and provide support and influence in the change management initiatives for smooth transitioning of practices of the Company.
  • To manage all employee relational procedures support such as HR disciplinary matters, grievance handling, performance management, redundancies, conflict resolution, workplace investigations, internal complaints and staff welfare etc.
  • Supervise the record management of all employees’ personal files, attendance and leave records payroll information.
  • Liaise and coordinate with government and statutory institutions and establish the operational compliance as well as labor compliance under the shops & office act and other labor laws applicable.
  • Direct the talent development process and enhance training aspect of the company.
  • Monitor the employee turnover & absenteeism and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and labor turnover.
  • Handling all the internal labor inquiries, grievances and disciplinary matters, while representing company on public bodies related to HR matters.
  • Oversee the entire administration issues of the company which includes stores, all movable and immovable items, security, vehicles and equipment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years previous experience in a similar role. Preference will be given to the candidates who worked in the horticulture sector.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Fully conversant on labor laws of Sri Lanka pertaining to employment and HR best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics, HR systems and databases.
  • Willingness to travel to nurseries & sales outlets.
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to use MS office packages.
