EDUCATOR - YOUTH FACILITY (MALE)

(CHILDREN’S VILLAGE – PILIYANDALA & JAFFNA)

The Youth Facility Educator is responsible for guiding the youth boys of SOS Children’s Villages Piliyandala & Jaffna according to the organization’s policies and procedures towards independence, so that when they leave the care of SOS Children’s Villages they shall be self-sufficient contributing members of society. In achieving this, the Youth Facility Educator should be seen as a role model providing advice, guidance, and support and a positive example to the young people in their development from adolescence to adulthood.

Responsibilities

  • Duties will include the development of youth’s educational programs, assisting and guiding to resolve personal, social, or psychological problems faced by youth, conducting study programs and liaising with school principals and teachers.
  • You will also be expected to participate in Children’s Village activities and any other event or place (Probation Department, Schools, and Hospitals) which is necessary for the wellbeing of the Youth.

Qualifications

  • Candidates who are genuinely interested in the development of children and who possess a degree/diploma or equivalent qualifications in Youth Development, Social Work, or any other related discipline with the ability to multi-task and provide leadership and guidance to the children are desired.
  • Those who have good computer skills and knowledge of English will be given preference.

This is a residential position, and residential accommodation, including utilities, will be provided by the organization. Meals will be provided at subsidized rates.
