Job Title: Farm Manager – Poultry & Livestock Operations
Location: Warakapola, Sri Lanka

About Us:
Organy Agro is a growing agribusiness venture committed to sustainable and ethical farming practices. We currently operate a 4000-layer chicken farm and are in the process of expanding into goat farming. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Farm Manager to lead our operations on-site and drive productivity, animal health, and overall farm efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Layer Chicken Management (Primary Responsibility):
- Oversee daily farm operations related to the layer chicken unit (feeding, egg collection, lighting, biosecurity, waste management).
- Monitor flock health, liaise with veterinarians, and implement vaccination & medication schedules.
- Ensure optimal feed conversion and maintain production targets (egg quantity and quality).
- Supervise farm workers and assign tasks to maintain efficiency and cleanliness.
- Maintain farm records related to production, mortality, feed usage, and health interventions.
Goat Farm Development (Secondary Focus):
- Plan and implement the goat farming project, including infrastructure, breed selection, feed plan, and health programs.
- Coordinate with construction teams and suppliers for necessary equipment and shelter development.
- Set up breeding programs, vaccination schedules, and general welfare management for goats.
General Farm Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage farm staff.
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare and environmental regulations.
- Manage farm inventory, feed stock, and procurement requirements.
- Prepare periodic farm performance reports and update management on key metrics.
- Implement farm automation and technology where applicable.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Livestock Production, or related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in managing poultry (layer) farms; experience with goat farming is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good knowledge of disease control, feed nutrition, and record-keeping.
- Familiarity with free-range or semi-intensive farming practices is advantageous.
- Willing to reside near or within Warakapola farm premises.
- Basic computer and reporting skills.
