The Person We Are Looking For..
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is a strategic thinker with a strong background in procurement management and good fits the post of Senior Manager - Supply Chain to lead our Supply Chain team, optimize supply chain processes, and drive cost-saving initiatives. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer and be responsible for procurement tasks optimizing the productivity of the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- The Senior Manager – Supply Chain is responsible for leading the end-to-end supply chain operations including procurement, inventory management, supplier contract & relationship management, and logistics, to ensure uninterrupted, cost-effective, and quality-assured supply of goods and services required for airline catering operations. Strategic planning, optimization of processes, compliance with hygiene and aviation standards, and contribution to the company’s growth and efficiency objectives.
- Develop and implement efficient, cost-effective supply chain strategies by coordinating procurement and shipping whilst analyzing performance data to identify improvements, and aligning supply chain operations with broader business goals through cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage national and international transportation and logistics to ensure efficiency, optimize inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock, coordinate with relevant authorities for procurement and shipping, implement inventory tracking systems & facilitate sample evaluations.
- Responsible for adhering to the Government procurement guidelines manual when purchasing goods and services while maintaining timely targets in the Procurement & Shipping Department to ensure smooth operations of Supply Chain Management of Catering Business. Coordinating with line ministries and authorities related to procurement and shipping activities and organizing and moderating the meetings of different Procurement Committees established according to the Government procurement guidelines.
- Provide management information on a regular basis on Procurement related aspects for the use of the Government Treasury, Board of Directors Chief Executive Officer and Senior Manager.
- Implement and maintain safety and quality standards in supply chain operations.
- Utilize technology and data analytics to enhance supply chain visibility and decision-making and implement automation and digital tools to streamline procurement activities. Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, and conduct research to identify the best suppliers.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field Master’s degree or a Professional qualification related to supply chain management.
- 8 years of experience in Supply Chain roles with 4 years or more Managerial experience in airline catering, food manufacturing, or hospitality sectors.
- Be a Sri Lankan citizen below 50 years as at 30th May 2025.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, procurement best practices, inventory management, and procurement strategies.
- Strong understanding of food safety, international sourcing, and aviation regulatory requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving skills coupled with strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Strong leadership skills, Planning and Action orientation, negotiation skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
