Engineer/Assistant Engineer

You will be responsible for

  • Responsible for all manufacturing processes of printed circuit board assemblies using both surface mount and thru-hole technologies.
  • Be able to create work procedure instructions. Provide training to other staff within the department.
  • Experience in SMT Mount programming ideally for Assemble on and Panasonic as well as good knowledge in reflow and wave solder profiling. Knowledge in Equipment maintenance is of advantage.
  • Setting up systems to monitor report and analyze process issues, using SPC.
  • Interfacing with other manufacturing and support groups to address and resolve manufacturing, quality and engineering issues.
  • Addressing workflow, safety and quality requirements.
  • Solving daily process related problems in the area of defect generation, workflow bottlenecks, as well as ongoing yield improvement.
  • Recommending process improvements to enhance product flow and improve overall throughput.
  • Diagnosing and fixing manufacturing process problems.
  • Reducing scrap levels.
  • Provide technical support to production team members and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Qualifications needed for the role

  • BSc degree or diploma in electronic/electrical/Production engineering from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 to 4 years’ experience in the relevant field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software and equipment.
